Abstract

Introduction. The development of new technology and reliable operation of radio systems requires knowledge of the scattering of radio waves by radar targets. For solids of complicated form there is no sufficiently accurate methods of calculation and their information about the RCS can be obtained by measuring. Therefore, along with the development of the theory of the case and the extensive experimental study of the scattering and diffraction of radio waves, which leads to the development of new methods for measuring the RCS. Theoretical statement. In theoretical statement presents a method of scale models of electrodynamic horn antennas, are presented on the basis of Maxwell's equations model to measure their radar cross-section (RCS). For validation of the results of the method of electrodynamic simulation in research scale RCS characteristics of horn antennas were fabricated and measured in these antennas decimeter wavelengths. The results of calculating and measuring the EPR two horn antennas have shown agreement with graphic precision that confirms receiving calculation method based on EPR measurements of VSWR. Conclusion. The proposed method of electrodynamic simulation and measurement method of horn antennas allows to estimate the RCS chart a broad sector of irradiation angles and reception. From a comparison of the RCS horn antenna with a matched load is short-circuited and may be determined potentially achievable degree of reduction. The value of the RCS horn antennas allows you to use them as measures of operating the RCS measurement units.
